Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON has been honoured once again by the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS), earning the Governor of the Year Award on Urban Infrastructure for the third time. The prestigious national recognition ceremony took place on Sunday, December 7th, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, presented the award to Gov Fintiri alongside other distinguished leaders. In his remarks, President Tinubu commended the recipients for their impactful contributions to Nigeria’s development, acknowledging their dedication to progress, stability, and effective governance.




The NEAPS organizers noted that Gov Fintiri’s selection stemmed from his visionary leadership and consistent achievements across critical sectors. His administration’s strides in urban infrastructure particularly in road expansion, modern city projects, and revitalized public facilities were highlighted as standout achievements. They also cited improvements in education, healthcare delivery, economic development, and social cohesion as part of the reasons he remains a worthy honouree.
Gov Fintiri’s approach to governance, marked by peace-building, unity promotion, and people-centered reforms, has continued to position Adamawa State as a model for progressive public service in Nigeria.
